Influencing your Potential Customer

I think everyone can agree that trying to persuade people into buying your product can be a difficult or next to impossible task. It is a key part of marketing to promote your business on a daily basis and to be able to get your message to the right individuals. By getting the message to them in a positive format you will close in on selling your product.

It really doesn’t matter what you have to budget for you to be effective in influence marketing. Just being able to convey the message to the right person at the right moment is the most important aspect.

By producing top quality marketing materials on the image you wish to present people for your business and about yourself as a whole you must keep it consistent. Creating a list of all areas you will want to do in order to reach out to that potential customer is a good start.

Instead of trying to reach everyone you can think of, focus your target market on the customers that will more then likely need or want to purchase your product.

Do your advertising where the best potential customers might be. Market in places that people are more apt to purchase your product or service. So for example if you are selling pet supplies, try going to local area vet’s offices and ask to leave flyers and or samples of your product would be better then going to sporting goods store and trying to sell your product in that market.

Create business cards for you to give people when you meet them. Most business cards are thrown away, so make on that people can use. Items like a magnet or sticky not pad are good ideas where your company name and contact information are on them. These are examples of what customers will have those around and use and thereby seeing your business and your name on a daily basis.

Make the customer feel that they are important with positive acknowledgments and let them know that you appreciate them. You can send a thank you note along with the item when they purchase your product or a quick email of your gratitude will go a long way.

Encourage your customers to tell others about you and your business. Word of mouth is a powerful and the least expensive of all advertising and marketing techniques you can do for your business. If you create what I call the “wow” factor to all of your clients then they will have no problem telling others about your product.

Lastly and probably the most important point to make is always do your best to make an unhappy customer happy again or to get that inactive customer back to buying your product again.

It will cost you less in the long run if you pick up the phone and inquire if you can do anything to bring that not so great experience a more positive one. Try contacting that inactive customer instead of trying to find a new customer by sending a personalized email asking how they are doing and if there is anything you can do to bring them into making another purchase. Sometimes the little things mean more to that customer then anything else you possibly could offer to them.'
