One of the biggest downfalls for a great many home based businesses is that they aren’t taking it seriously. Sure, you put effort into it, but by not taking it seriously and what I am saying, mean by not taking it as serious as you would a traditional job. With a traditional job you know you have to get up out of the bed and take your booty to work or suffer consequences. Show up late for work or call in too many times and it will cost you your job. With a home based businesses you do not have a set schedule other then the one you make for yourself. If you do not treat it with the same respect and seriousness as you would a traditional job that one morning late start can easily lead to two, three and so on.
Along the same line of thinking is that all the frequent breaks, extended lunches, spending time on the internet “playing” rather then working, taking extra long weekends are all bad habits as well as signs that you do not take your home based job serious. You wouldn’t do these things if you had a nine to five job, so why would you do so with your business?
If you think about this, it is a basically common sense that when you are told that the income you make in a home based business is only measured by what you put into it. If you are not working it, you are not making money. You may have been able to get by with that lazy attitude in your traditional job and still got your paycheck, but after a while a employer would have caught on to your lack of sincerity to the company and give you your walking papers.
With your own home based business, although there is no one there to push you and make you do what you need to do, your paycheck will show just what you have or have not accomplished. When you don’t make money, you don’t pay your bills and the end result is failure.
